Be a Santa to a Senior!
Jacobs Trading 1600 Regent Ave in Transcona is absolutely THRILLED to once again be a part of this amazing organization this coming holiday season! We are hoping all our fans will share in our enthusiasm
to support this tremendous act of kindness! Program begins Nov 16th!
The “Be a Santa to a Senior” program is run by Home Instead Senior Care who delivers
over 15,500 gifts to seniors in various communities!
Seniors who are impoverished and/or isolated are referred to the program by health care
professionals and agencies serving older adults. They are asked what it is they need or
would like and these wishes are filled through kind donations from the community.
Donations requests are received from retirement residences, churches, businesses, community organizations, health care agencies, and members of the community.
HOW IT WORKS:
1) Beginning Nov 16th visit Jacobs Trading located at 1600 Regent Ave in Transcona
to pick up an ornament from the Christmas Tree.
2) The ornament you select will include the name of the senior and a gift request.
3) Purchase the listed gift (requested donation is approx. $30 gift)
4) Wrap the gift with love and warm wishes and return it with the ornament firmly attached
to Jacobs Trading by the designated date. Once all the gifts are collected they will be
delivered by a volunteer accompanied with a warm smile and friendly visit!
